Tenacious D

Tenacious D's complete and total musical dominance of the world and the realms below and beyond can be traced back to the chance meeting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1989. Their dark magicks meshed immediately, and like a veritable two-main raiding guild of rock n roll, the D conquered far and wide, gaining reputation with achievements such as appearances in Tim Robbins' Carnage, on HBO's Mr. Show, their own HBO series Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth.

Tenacious D's many conquests have truly earned them exalted status with all factions of rock. The band's self titled debut, released in 2001, not only achieved platinum status in the U.S. and gold in the UK and Australia, it featured "Tribute," chronicling the D's creation of "the greatest song in the world." The Liam Lynch-directed video for "Tribute" rendered this epic visually, while Spike Jonze and John Kricfalusi did likewise, respectively, for "Wonderboy" and "FHG."

In 2006, Tenacious D unleashed the autobiographical Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny major motion picture and accompanying soundtrack album, which reached the U.S. & UK Top 10s. The ensuing world tour saw the band obliterate a sold out Madison Square Garden, among dozens of other international battlegrounds-including the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards and a first credited appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Other Tenacious D releases and include the 6X platinum The Complete Master Works DVD and its sequel The Complete Master Works 2. New album this Spring 2012!
